READY TO MEASURE 

With the Digi-HR.T, an electronic device for measuring the humidity of paper in stacks and reels and also automatically monitors (monitoring) humidity and temperature in the workshop.

 

WHY CONTROL HUMIDITY?

To avoid very costly errors, it is necessary to control this humidity with Digi-HR.T in order to take appropriate measures in time.

 

A hygroscopic material such as paper tends to establish a state of equilibrium between its own moisture content and that of the surrounding air. In a stack of paper, the moisture in the air between the sheets is thus always in equilibrium with the moisture content of the paper.

Relative humidity expresses the ratio between the humidity in the paper and that of its environment. If the moisture contents are approximately equal, there is no absorption or release of moisture by the paper or the surrounding air. If they are different, the absorption or rejection of moisture by the paper will change its physical properties.

Wavy edges or curling of stacks of paper can cause printing problems such as ghosting, frame shifting, or wrinkling. This curling occurs when a dry paper (and moreover loaded with static electricity) is exposed to too dry ambient conditions; or the opposite.
A difference > 8-10% RH causes this phenomenon (the exchange of humidity between the two media is too fast) and a longer ink drying time.

The paper in these conditions is unusable, but we only notice it during the printing process.
